  "textContent": "MPs will debate a petition relating to support for the ceramics industry on Monday 6 July, after more than 109,000 people signed the call for action.\n\nThe debate is due to take place from 6pm and will be opened by Dave Robertson, a member of the Petitions Committee, who has been asked by the Committee to lead the debate.\n\nMPs from all parties will be able to take part, with the Government also sending a minister to respond.\n\nThe petition is titled:\n\n> Support the Ceramics Industry and protect British manufacturing jobs and skills\n\nThe petition states:\n\n> \"Apply energy intensive industry relief (Supercharger scheme) to the ceramics industry to help cut soaring industrial energy costs & support ceramics businesses, which are at the risk of imminent collapse without urgent intervention, as seen with Denby Pottery registering for administration support.\"\n\nThe Government responded to the petition on 11 May 2026.\n\nIn that response, it said:\n\n> \"The Government intends to publicly consult on the eligibility of the British Industry Supercharger this year. However, consultation outcomes, including future sector inclusion, cannot be pre-empted.\"\n\nPetitions debates give MPs from all parties the chance to discuss the issues raised by one or more petitions and put their concerns to Government ministers.\n\nThey do not end with a vote to implement the request of a petition.
