"textContent": "From bugs to birds, and gardens to nature reserves, the charity calendar will celebrate the special wildlife and places of Staffordshire.\n\nSarah Davison, Marketing and Communications Manager, said:\n\n> “Nature is in trouble. Decades of decline have left little diversity – only pockets of nature rich space remain.\n\n> “Each day, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is working to bring nature back across the county. We want to restore what we’ve lost and bring diminished landscapes back to life, so wildlife can thrive once again.\n\n> “We need local photographers help. By entering our photography competition you’ll help raise vital funds towards our work. You'll also inspire more people to enjoy Staffordshire's nature and fight for its future.”\n\nThe Trust is also encouraging up and coming young photographers to enter with a dedicated under 18 category. The winning youngster will win a photography tutorial with top local wildlife photographer Adrian Clarke.\n\n> “Entries close at 9am on Monday 13 July. We can’t wait to see your entries - good luck!” adds Sarah.\n\nThe best entries will feature in the Trust’s 2026 calendar, and all winners will receive a copy. The overall winner will be chosen by an online public vote - with their image featured on the calendar’s cover. They will also receive a pair of 8x42 binoculars worth £89.95, kindly donated by Viking for the competition.\n\nThe winners will be announced by the end of July, with a public vote running during August before the overall winner is revealed in early September.\n\nPhotographers can submit up to three landscape-oriented photos, which must have been taken in Staffordshire.\n\nHere are some of last years winners:\n\n1. Jewel of the Trent kingfisher - Ian Eardley 2. Elaine Henshaw - Ladybug - ladybird on fern 3. Call of the wild - red deer stag - Oliver Cadman\n\nDetails of how to enter, plus full terms and conditions, can be found online: www.staffs-wildlife.org.uk/photography-competition\n\n#### Enjoyed this story?\n\nThe Staffordshire Signal is a not-for-profit, community-funded publication.
