Listening without filter

Do you let the universe, the totality of existence, speak to you unfiltered? Or, if you are open to it, do you only agree to listen through your very biased, narrow self-interest? Which of the two? And if all this means nothing to you, then don't proceed to listen or to read. But if it resonates to some extent, take the time. Ask yourself: what would it mean to listen to the totality of all, unfiltered? Would it mean listening to something apart from where you are, from how you are right now? Or would it mean something else entirely—that the word "listening" takes on a completely different meaning, one of being one with? Don't choose what sounds more attractive or more correct. Ask. And if you happen to see that listening to the totality of existence without filter is the only listening there is, and if you happen to be open to it, what will you do if you do not like what you hear? If it presents to you a completely different set of considerations and pointers that contradict your preferences, what would you do then? Would you say, "Sorry, I made a mistake. I'm actually not interested in unfiltered unity with the whole. It's inconvenient for me. It doesn't serve my interests. I don't know how to live with that." Is that what you're going to do? And what does all this reveal to you? I ask myself: what does all this observation reveal to me about the nature of what I take to be listening to the totality of existence, as I am right now?
