"textContent": "Easter 2026 Bundle\n\n**And a preview of _The Magic Toy Factory_**\n\nWhy the software you make and use sucks.\n\nGet The Ebook bundle for €49 EUR, discounted from €134 (price includes VAT, where applicable)\n\nIt doesn’t seem to matter what process or method you use, whatever benefit there is to your work seems to come out in the wash.\n\nYour job adopts a scrum or agile, buys a fancy _SaaS_ that’s supposed to change everything. It all seems fine for a while, but if you make the mistake of pausing a few months later and reviewing the progress, you usually find that the effect, if any was minimal.\n\nThe problems at work are supposed to be fixable. The bargain was supposed to be straightforward:\n\n 1. Each issue has a solution.\n 2. You adopt the solution, a methodology or app used by others (“industry standard”).\n 3. The issue is supposed to go away.\n\n\n\nInstead it just gets _soggier_.\n\nYour problem is that you’re just _tinkering_ with the system you’re working in. You can’t actually fix the issue directly. You need to fix the system – the organisation you’re working in.\n\nTo fix a system that isn’t working isn’t you don’t add more to it, but instead you stop doing the things that make it worse.\n\nThankfully, this is usually much less work than adopting a fancy new process or onboarding everybody to a new Software-as-a-Service.\n\nMy book, _Out of the Software Crisis_ , focus on the many ways organisations and teams compromise their own work by introducing a number of ideas based on management theory and Systems-Thinking.\n\nThis Easter, _**from 31st of March to the 7th of April**_ , you can get all of my books, including _Out of the Software Crisis_ , as a part of a four book bundle, only available during over the Easter period, at a €85 EUR discount off the full combined price.\n\nIt includes:\n\n * _Out of the Software Crisis: Systems-Thinking for Software Projects_ , an opinionated guide to the systems-thinking perspective on software development.\n * _The Intelligence Illusion: why generative models are bad for business_ , an overview of the many risks and pitfalls of using generative models in your business backed by in-depth research.\n * _I am Uncluttered (Yellow): doom-prepping web dev through disdain, disrespect, and doing the right thing._ (Only available for a limited time through this bundle.)\n * _Bad Writing and Other Essays: Twenty-Five Years of Writing About the Digital Transformation._ (Only available for a limited time through this bundle.)\n\n\n\n## Also included: a preview of my upcoming book #\n\nIncluded is an 80 page preview of the book currently I’m working on and will hopefully release later this year: _The Magic Toy Factory_ which continues my exploration and explanation of management theories and concepts from a more humanistic process.\n\nBuyers will have the option to join a newsletter where I plan to document my progress with the book.\n\nAnd when the book is out, anybody who has bought the preview, whether as a part of the bundle or individually, will get the final version for free.\n\nEaster 2026 Bundle\n\n**And a preview of _The Magic Toy Factory_**\n\nWhy the software you make and use sucks.\n\nGet The Ebook bundle for €49 EUR, discounted from €134 (price includes VAT, where applicable)\n\nIf you don’t want to buy the entire bundle but want the preview and want to follow my progress on the book, you can buy just the 80 page preview, in PDF and EPUB, for €29 EUR.\n\nPrelude to the Toy Factory\n\n**A preview of _The Magic Toy Factory_**\n\nWhy the software you make and use sucks.\n\nGet The Ebook bundle for €29 EUR (price includes VAT, where applicable)",
