Global heating to ruin lagoon of Venice

Sea-level rise due to accelerating global heating will ruin the lagoon of Venice before the end of this century. More precisely, closing the flood barriers as often as will be required in a few decades will result in growth of algae which will petrify. Global heating will ruin large parts of the land and sea. We can't address the problem by treating all the many symptoms — we need to curb the heating itself.
