Those web sites are usually malicious, since they run nonfree software in the user's browser. And they do various sorts of snooping.\n\nBy raising this issue in your letter, you will support software freedom.\n\nSee the instructions for how to sign this letter campaign without running any nonfree JavaScript code--not trivial, but not hard.",
