Kurt Appel is Professor of Fundamental Theology at the Institute for Systematic Theology and Ethics of Catholic Theology at the University of Vienna as well as Speaker of the research platform "Religion and Transformation in Contemporary Society" at the same institution. He is author of Das Testament Der Zeit: Die Apokalyptik Und Ihre Gegenwartige Rezeption, co-author of Toward an African Theology of Fraternal Solidarity (Wipf & Stock, 2014), and numerous other books and articles in international publications.
