I looked into Lemur’s QuadBackgroundComponent, but unfortunately the material can’t be set from the outside, and because it is declared as private, you can’t really do anything by extending this class. So I think your approach is absolutely the right one here. Nice job.

Is there any chance you could show us your button render effect in action? It sounds really cool.
