First of all, congratulations for making this game. It has a solid gameplay, good graphics and looks really professional. I also find it really enjoyable.
I’ve been playing for about 1:15h and finished the game (I mean, all upgrades bought and latest space leve). I wanted to give you some feedback, although I already did using the from, but I think you could benefit from direct interaction.
First of all I found some minor bugs
The cost shown in the last fire-rate upgrade is incorrect:
I experienced random and frequent framerate drops. I’m running it on a laptop with an intel i7-1260P with the integrated GPU (Alder Lake-P Integrated Graphics) running linux debian 12
The “Exit” option from the pause menu does nothing.
The monitor selection in the options menu fails for me. I have 4 monitors and I can only select “monitor0” or “monitor1”, also the resolution change option makes weird stuff, When fullscreen is selected, the window border is removed but it’s not going fullscreen. Also, I think if possible it’s better to be able to select fullscreen/window and resolution independently
Some other thoughts…
From my point of view the music, although nice, is too quiet for this kind of game.
I feel like the game is too short, not sure if you’ll be adding more content (upgrades and space levels or maybe difficulty level or something else)… I don’t think that most people will play it from the beginning multiple times if it’s just the same over and over again.
Also I’m missing savegame slots. I mean, you’re playing and the progress is saved and you can start from scratch again, but what if two people in the same home wants to keep their progress independently?
About the ship movement, I found it weird at first, it’s obvious that it’s aiming for the nearest enemy, but it takes the ship ages to turn around at low levels and you miss lots of shots. I think it could be a little smarter trying not to rotate that much it there’re more enemies in a not too distant range from where it’s pointing to
About the upgrades you’re talking about, I like it as it’s nowadays. Simple, understandable and direct to the point. It’s about space ships, not a complex RPG with thousands of options for the character. Being that said, if more options were added in a tree form making you choose one branch or the other, could make the game more re-playable, wanting to play other run trying other options. But I wouldn’t complicate it much…
I hope this feedback helps you with the game
