RuPaul’s Drag Race UK favourite Kitty Scott‑Claus is set to take on the London Marathon onSunday, 26 April , running in memory of her beloved grandmother, Beryl , and raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Kitty, who became a fan favourite on season three of Drag Race is using the marathon to honour her grandmother’s experience with dementia while helping to fund vital research into the disease.

On her official fundraising page, Kitty explains that she initially mistook her grandmother’s memory lapses as part of her personality, before realising they were early signs of Alzheimer’s. She describes being “honoured and excited” to run the marathon in Beryl’s memory and “for everyone affected by dementia”, adding that she hopes her efforts bring the UK “one step closer towards a cure.” According to her fundraising tracker, Kitty has already raised £1,810 towards her £3,000 target, supported by 22 donors.

In a recent interview, Kitty said her grandmother had always been her “biggest cheerleader”, allowing her to express herself freely. She hopes running the 26.2 miles - in full drag costume, minus the heels - will raise both awareness and funds, adding that Beryl “would be so proud.”

This is not Kitty’s first marathon; she previously completed the race in 2025, running in memory of fellow drag performer The Vivienne, who died that year.

Alzheimer’s Research UK, the charity Kitty is fundraising for, is the UK’s leading dementia research organisation, dedicated to revolutionising diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the condition.
