Comedian Dian Cathal brings bold new tour to the UK this spring

Award-winning trans comedian Dian Cathal is hitting the road this spring with his brand-new show, Trans*Atlantic, a sharp and funny exploration of what it means to be both trans and American in Britain right now.

Known for his previous show Deadnamed, Cathal uses the tour to pose a pointed question: if you are a trans man and a US expat living in the UK, which identity makes you the bigger villain? The show takes aim at the "dual abuse" of his existence, from being seen as a "double agent" of gender by the British public, to endless visa admin as a "Yankee Doodle nightmare" for the British government.

Expect material ranging from his transition journey to British attitudes around school shootings and the bathroom debate. Reviews Hub awarded it five stars, calling it a show that "must be watched by Starmer's cabinet, JK Rowling, and assorted Guardian columnists."

Trans*Atlantic visits Norwich, Brighton, London and Cambridge this spring, with more dates expected to be announced.

Tour dates:

  • Norwich: 18 April, The Yard Coffee
  • Brighton: 2 May, Komedia Studio (Brighton Fringe)
  • London: 18 May, Queer Comedy Club
  • Cambridge: 29 May, Blue Moon
