The Centre for Arts & Wellbeing has announced its support for theBrighton AIDS Memorial with a special two‑week exhibition celebrating the lives and stories behind theUK AIDS Memorial Quilt. Panels from the historic quilt will be displayed in Elm House , Lewes Road, Brighton BN2 4GJ from 13 to 27 March , offering visitors a moving tribute to those lost during the AIDS crisis.

A launch event will take place on Friday, 13 March at10.30am , and organisers have emphasised that everyone is welcome. The exhibition invites the public to reflect on the lives commemorated in each hand‑stitched panel, many of which were created by friends, partners, and family members. Each quilt square represents an individual story of love, loss and remembrance - echoing the memorial’s guiding sentiment: “Love is life that lasts forever".

The display aims not only to honour those who died but also to spark conversation around the ongoing impact of HIV and the importance of community remembrance.

Jess Moriarty , who is coordinating engagement for the project, is inviting schools, colleges, and community groups to attend. Educators or group leaders interested in bringing students or organising related events can contact her directly for further information.

The Brighton AIDS Memorial exhibition promises to be a poignant space for remembrance and reflection - uniting artwork, history, and collective memory in the heart of the city.
