Pook-Emu Bee: Links For 03-30-26

I have work today, but let us start the work week with a new set of Pook-Emu Bee links.

  1. New Apple Silicon M4 & M5 HiDPI Limitation on 4K External Displays (Sam McLeod. March 29, 2026.)

As a Linux man, I am blown away by how advanced Macs are. They’re already dropping support for legacy 4K.

  1. ‘There Are a Lot of People in Dearborn Who Are Sad’: D emocratic Senate Hopeful Abdul El-Sayed Said He Needed To Stay Silent on Khamenei Killing Because Many of Michigan’s Muslim Voters ‘Are Sad’ (Alana Goodman for The Washington Free Beacon. March 30, 2026.)

I’d say that someone should have told him to not discuss the “strategy” out loud but it probably wouldn’t have done him any good.

  1. Bushwick City Farm Padlocked Amid Migrant Crisis, Fines (Kennedy Sessions for The City. March 26, 2026.)

You have one job if you take over property to start a “community farm” and the property owner decides to tolerate you to avoid conflict: Don’t let it turn into a homeless camp. (The article notes this “farm” was in Bed Stuy, not Bushwick. Is Bushwick really “cooler” than Bed Stuy? Who knows.)

  1. Major NYC hospital accused of using ‘market power’ to force higher insurance costs: feds (Peter Senzamici for the New York Post. March 26, 2026.)

Good thing I went to NYU in late 2018 when they took a good chunk of my colon (I had a huge TV in my room, very cool).

  1. Sports Branding’s “Elite 8” Best Uniforms. (Brigitte Smith for Sports Branding. March 28, 2026.)

Arizona is clearly the best of the eight teams discussed in the article.

  1. Haru Basho Storylines of Intrigue: Recap. (Josh K at Tachiai. March 29, 2026.)

A good recap of the recently completed March grand sumo tournament. I watched the top-level highlights on NHK World TV for all 15 days. Need to figure out how to see the lower-level matches for the summer tournament.

  1. The 800 Million Shekel Mistake: Inside the Knesset’s Chaotic Late-Night Session (Eliana Fleming for JFEED. March 29, 2026.)

In Israel, accidentally voting to give your political opposition ~$250 million is a news story. Here, it’s a rounding error.
