In the post, she described how she pulled everything she has published online in various places since 2006 and published it on her own website. She created a term for this based on the IndieWeb concept of POSSE (“Publish on your own site, syndicate everywhere”), “ROOTS” (“Return Old Online Things to your own Site”). I like the idea. People who have published things they want to preserve on external platforms should consider bringing it “home,” or at a minimum ensuring that they have an archive of their past publications in case they decide to discontinue using an external platform or service (or if they lose access to things they published for some other reason). I will note that in certain cases, the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine is a useful tool for preserving old writing and media.",
