Company imposes some restrictions because their tool is just so incredible no one is ready for it yet.\n\n\n\nSixth Tone published a story about some video generation tool by ByteDance (wonderful company) which followed this trend, right up to ByteDance publicly imposing restrictions against using the likenesses of real people (that would have been sensible in the first place). One comes away with the feeling that the hubbub was carefully coordinated between ByteDance and the online influencers to (1) advertise how powerful the tool is and (2) give ByteDance good PR for “responsibly” imposing restrictions as to not revolutionize society too quickly. But that surely can’t be it!",
