Atlus Forgets a Persona Protagonist
Atlus is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Persona series. I have played through Persona 3 FES, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 (Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload are on my to-do list). Suffice it to say, I am a fan of the latter three Persona entries (I have yet to play Persona and the two Persona 2s), evinced by the fact I have covered parts of two Persona 4 social links (Dojima and Ai Ebihara) on NLJ. On February 12, 2026, Noisy Pixel reported on a commemorative illustration from Atlus depicting all of the protagonists from the Persona games. I reviewed the illustration closely. I will assume arguendo that Atlus did not miss any protagonists from Persona and the two Persona 2 entries (I have yet to play those), but as a veteran of multiple Persona 3 FES play-throughs, I could not help but notice that one Persona protagonist is missing from the illustration. I shall not write the name here since Persona 3 Reload and its DLCs are out in the wild and there may be some people out there who are unaware of the twist, but I covered the subject of the excellent missing protagonist when I shared a plain text guide to Persona 3 FES’s “The Answer” epilogue that I wrote for a friend back in 2011. Of course, I will forgive Atlus’s oversight if it makes some visible progress on a Persona 6 instead of focusing exclusively on re-makes and spinoffs. (HT to me for using an external post about an Atlus promotional image to share links to most of my extant Persona articles.)
