"textContent": "The purpose behind these new Neighborhood Affordability Datasets is presenting a clear portrait of the neighborhood conditions and dynamics that households at different income levels can expect. Given what several organizations and advocates have continuously pointed out, these datasets are particularly focused on households earning median and below-median incomes. At its core, these datasets match household-centered income groups with neighborhood types. The various neighborhood types are a product of a rigorous process of uncovering how neighborhoods are stratified across a Metro Statistical Area (MSA). Neighborhoods (census tracts) are differentiated according to how their socioeconomic statistics line up against the MSA-level numbers. The neighborhood types that emerge from this thorough process provide a three-dimensional perspective of the social environments that median-and-below households navigate in their everyday lives. This fact-focused service endeavor complements the work of organizations keenly interested in finding creative ways to make their cases for change. Our data partners will have the advantage of sharing the basics of how income impacts neighborhood choice with their stakeholders, while also having an enriched and contextualized understanding of neighborhood dynamics close at hand.",
