Reanimal is a game whose focus is simple: in roughly 4-5 hours, it showcases the challenges and costs of war, but also how the human mind unravels and processes those horrors in a very different manner. The game is made by the Little Nightmares developers, and you can definitely see the influence from those previous games. However, Reanimal surpasses those titles because you have excellent cinematography, outstanding yet horrific world design, a great use of puzzles, along with a wonderful cooperative experience. The story is very empowering, but at the same time, it also shows the struggles that humans have to go through in demanding, struggling situations. It’s definitely not a kind game by any means, but it touches your heart in ways that many other titles won’t. At its core, it’s meant to be played with a friend, but I haven’t felt any issues if I played it solo with AI.
