What draws you to Arid textures and landscapes?

i like to consider them as parts of a body seen at a microscopic level. chapped skin and scar tissue become miles of dry warping landscape, abrasions become rivers of blood, hairs stand up on end and become towering monoliths in the distance. something that appears so hostile on its surface belies the fact that every inch of it teems with life. if god were the world, it's how we would see it living upon it
