    "Blu-ray Movies - North America"

"textContent": "I want to set up a thread so that people can name their favorite films not yet on blu-ray as of June 2026. (I am aware there are other wish-lists started decades ago, and many on those lists have already been released. But I would like to have this list stand out as a most current, 2026 request.)\n\nHere are my two nominations today:\n\n[1] When Ladies meet (1933, Harry Beaumont).\nThis is one of my favorite American films.\n\n\n[2] The Age of Innocence (1934, Philip Moeller).\nBased on 'The Age of Innocence', the 1920 novel by Edith Wharton. Compared to the 1993 film, This 1934 film has a different take on the original source material from the novel:\n-----------------------------------------\na) The settings look more authentically 18th century New York: its room interior, indoor lighting, furniture, etc;\n\nb) More detailed treatment of some scenes in the first half of the story;\n\nc) Countess Ellen Olenska (Irene Dunne) is lovely. You can understand why Newland Archer chooses Ellen Olenska over May (Julie Haydon). In the 1993 film, you may be puzzled why Newland Archer (Daniel Day-Lewis) chooses Ellen Olenska (Michelle Pfeiffer) over May (Winona Ryder). \n-----------------------------------------",
