Silent Cartoon All Stars: Vol 1

The team behind The Cartoons of Mutt and Jeff: Volume No. 1 (https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Cartoons-of-Mutt-and-Jeff-Volume-No-1-Blu-ray/394736/) has launched a Kickstarter campaign for *Silent Cartoon All-Stars: Vol 1* (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/muttandjeffcartoons/silent-cartoon-all-stars-vol-1/). Image: https://i.ibb.co/dstDv6H1/Silent-Cartoon-All-Stars-Vol1.jpg ---Quote--- Silent Cartoon All-Stars: Vol 1 will feature approximately 20 cartoons spanning the most beloved and pioneering series of the silent film era, including: Winsor McCay's *Gertie the Dinosaur*, widely considered the first animated film to feature a character with a distinct personality, *Gertie on Tour*, and *How A Mosquito Works*, including newly discovered footage not previously known to survive; *Oswald the Lucky Rabbit*, the character Walt Disney created before Mickey Mouse, and then lost, also a sampling of *Disney's Alice Comedies*, the live action/animation hybrid that initially established Disney; *Felix the Cat*, the biggest cartoon star of the 1920s, *Koko the Clown* from Max Fleischer's Out of the Inkwell series, *Farmer Alfalfa*, *Mutt & Jeff*, and *Aesop's Fables*! At present, the list above includes the film scans that we already have acquired, but we plan to also secure additional scans of other classic silent characters such as *Krazy Kat*! ---End Quote--- As of today, the campaign is almost 94% funded with 4 days remaining. :)
