Directed by Roger Donaldson, and featuring creature character design by H.R. Giger, Species (1995) stars Natasha Henstridge in her film debut, alongside a stunning ensemble cast including Ben Kingsley, Michael Madsen, Alfred Molina, Forest Whitaker, and Marg Helgenberger. Species II (1998) sees Henstridge and Madsen reprise their roles in another chapter of slimy carnage, directed by Peter Medak. “We decided to make it female so it would be more docile and controllable.” ”More docile and controllable, eh?
