"textContent": "\n\n\n\nUpdated 15:07 12 Jun 2026 GMT+1Published 14:44 12 Jun 2026 GMT+1\nFacebook is currently down for millions of users\n\n\n\nRhiannon Ingle\n\nFacebook is currently down for millions of users across the globe.\n\nIsDown reported earlier this afternoon (12 June) that 'users are reporting an outage with Facebook'.\n\n\"IsDown is reporting that Facebook is having issues. IsDown last checked Facebook status on 12 June 2026 at 2:42 pm BST. We've received 4959 user reports in the past 24 hours,\" the site added.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFacebook is down for millions of users across the globe (NICOLAS TUCAT / Contributor / Getty Images)\n\nThe outage appears to have impacted Facebook Messenger as well as the main app and website.\n\nUsers were automatically logged out of their accounts and found themselves unable to log back in.\n\nThey were then shown an error message stating that 'an unexpected error occurred'.\n\nVisitors on the main Facebook website were told that 'something went wrong' and that the company is 'working on it and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can'.\n\nPeople have since flocked to other social media channels to share their reactions to the reportage outage, with one X user writing: \"I thought I was hacked.\"\n\n\"I thought I'd lost my page.. yes, there is def a problem with it,\" a second commented as a third chimed in: \"Logged me right out lol.\"'\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMeta is yet to release a statement on the outage (IsDown)\n\nA fourth piped up: \"Just happened to me. Lmao.\"\n\n\"Everyone arriving at Twitter to see if Facebook and Instagram are down,\" joked a fifth.\n\n\"Mine logged me out,\" shared another as a final X user adding: \"Instagram is down too!\"\n\nIt isn't immediately clear what's causing the current disruption or when normal service is expected to resume.\n\nMeta is yet to issue a public statement on the outage.\nWhat does 'query error' mean on Facebook?\n\nMany users are being met with a 'query error' update when trying to access their Facebook accounts - but what does this mean?\n\nWell, it usually means the app or website tried to retrieve information from Facebook's servers, but the request failed.\n\nCommon causes include:A temporary Facebook server issue\n\n\n\n\n * A poor or unstable internet connection\n * A bug in the Facebook app\n * Corrupted app data or cache\n * A problem with the specific page, post, or feature you're trying to access\n\n\nIn most cases, it's temporary and can be fixed by refreshing the page, restarting the app, clearing the app cache, updating Facebook, or trying again later.\n\nIf the error appears consistently for one specific action, it may indicate a problem with that content rather than your account.\n\nTyla has reached out to Meta for comment.\n\nMore to follow.\n\nFeatured Image Credit: Nicolas TUCAT / AFP via Getty Images\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSource",
