Add a new dynastic rule called “The Market” with the following text

A Market Entry consists of a Seller, which is a Geneticist, a Price (which is a positive integer), a Bacterium, and an End Date (which is a date and time), and a list of Bidders (who are all Geneticists). The name of the Geneticist, Price, Bacterium and End Date, as well as the names of all Bidders are all publicly tracked for each Market Entry.

The Market is a publicly tracked list of Market Entries.

If a Geneticist does not already have a Market Entry for which they are the seller, they may List a Bacterium by performing the following atomic action

  • Spend 1 Agar known as the Listing Fee
  • Choose a Bacterium any Petri Dish they own and remove it from that Petri Dish
  • Choose a Price
  • Create a Market Entry with themselves as the Seller, the chosen Price and Bacterium, and an end date of 48 hours from the current time.

A Geneticist may Place A Bid on a Market Entry for which they are not already a Bidder by performing the following Atomic action

  • Reduce their Agar by the Price of the Market Entry
  • Add themselves to the Bidders for that Market Entry

A Geneticist may Recall A Bid on a Market Entry for which they are already a Bidder by performing the following Atomic Action

  • Increase their Agar by the Price of the Market Entry
  • Remove themselves from the Bidders for that Market Entry

If the current date and time is past the End Date for a Market Entry, any Geneticist or the Firm may perform the following Atomic Action known as Resolving the Sale

  • First, remove all Bidders for that Market Entry who have 3 Bacteria in each of their Petri Dishes from the Bidder’s list for Market Entry
  • If there are no Bidders for the Market Entry, Transfer the Bacteria back to the Seller (Or remove the Bacteria from the game if the Seller does not have any Petri Dishes with room in it), then delete the Market Entry
  • If there is exactly one Bidder for the Market Entry, Transfer the Bacteria the Bidder, give the Seller a number of Agar equal to the price of the Market Entry, then delete the Market Entry
  • If there is more than one Bidder for the Market Entry, randomly select one to be the Buyer. Transfer the Bacteria the Buyer, give the Seller and all Bidders who were the Buyer a number of Agar equal to the price of the Market Entry, then delete the Market Entry. The buyer then ceases to be the buyer for any future applications of this action (unless of course they are selected again)

When a Bacteria is Transferred to a Geneticist in this above manner, it is moved to their Petri Dish that has the lowest number of Bacteria in it, with ties broken by being the Petri Dish with the lowest label

When a Geneticist goes idle, the Recall A Bid action is performed for all their bids on their behalf

If a Seller goes Idle the Resolving the Sale is still processed as if they were not idle.

In “Petri Dishes” replace “A Bacterium must be contained within a Petri Dish owned by that bacterium’s Geneticist” with “A Bacterium must be contained within a Petri Dish owned by that bacterium’s Geneticist or in a Market Entry”
