Despite their popularity as a potential economic driver, data centers and cryptocurrency mining operations are raising environmental concerns throughout the country - and right here in Durham.
On Monday, May 4, Durham City Council takes up a two-year moratorium - proposed by Council Member Nate Baker - on new approvals for such facilities inside city limits.
