BACKROOMS PREMIERES IN THEATERS TODAY.

Today, the movie, based on the internet series by Kane Parsons (AKA Kane Pixels), premieres in all theaters nationwide. It's something that fans of liminal spaces will enjoy. The films follows an owner of a furniture store named Clark (Played by Chiwetel Ejiofor) who discovers a doorway to the backrooms, just located in the basement of the showroom. The film also stars Renate Reinsve, Finn Bennett, Lukita Maxwell, and Mark Duplass.

On January 7, 2022, Kane uploaded his short films called The Backrooms, which is based on the internet Creepypasta. Then, in 2023, Kane announced that he is working with A24, Atomic Monster, Chernin Entertainment, and 21 Laps Productions to direct the film adaptation, bringing the internet series to the big screen. He used Blender 3D and Adobe After Effects previously to create the original series. As for the movie, the set was built with over 30,000 square feet of Backrooms, which has resulted in people getting lost.

This wouldn't be the first time a Creepypasta got made into a movie or a TV show. In 2016, a series on SYFY called Channel Zero premiered with the first season being based on Candle Cove, which was created by Kris Straub. The series only ran for four seasons before being cancelled in 2019. In 2018, Slenderman was released in theaters. However, the film would be considered one of the worst adaptations to ever hit the screen.

While the American Horror Stories version of Backrooms didn't go so well, The Backrooms Movie is sure to delight people who are fans of dreamcore, weirdcore, and liminal spaces in particular. If you're interested in seeing this film, make plans to go there, and make sure not to get no clipped into the Backrooms while on your way.

CYBER PHANTOM'S MOVIE REVIEWS

Sinners (2025)

"You keep dancing with the devil, one day he's gonna follow you home."

This film, directed By Ryan Coogler, takes place in the 1930's where two brothers, Smoke and Stack (Both characters played by Michael B. Jordan), return to their hometown to start a juke joint for the local Black community. All of a sudden, a gang of bloodthristy vampires led by Remmick (Played by Jack O' Connell) were waiting for them and start to mess things up. This film combines vampires and folklore with black history and blues music. It even shows you what life is like in the prohibition era south.

I must say, I've enjoyed this film with passion. I'm so proud of Miles Caton for getting his first acting role in this movie. I especially like the music in the film, and the songs too since it's also a musical film as well. I even appreciate the set design for the movie as well. Even the acting is excellent. So excellent that it will have me watching the film from the beginning all the way to the end. I especially love the supernatural elements that would give me the chills, and that it's entertaining to anyone who likes vampire movies.

I 100% recommend that you check it out, and see the cinematic masterpiece that will leave you amazed.

The door to the phone booth slams shut, trapping you inside. You look away from the phone to see a ghost of the last person who used it. It turns out the phone booth is haunted.
