A book about alien diplomacy

Can anyone suggest a less actiony sci fi book more about communicating, diplomatic relations and philosophical books on first contact? I'm thinking something like Star Trek TNG and maybe the movie Arrival. I already read Oppuchi Hotline and loved it by thank_you_dayta
