I want to be challenged emotionally and conceptually by a book

I'm in my 30s. I read a few books a year, but I'm not a crazy voracious reader. I miss the feeling of reading a voice that feels fresh and exciting and difficult, and I'm hoping y'all can help me out. Some authors I really like are Ursula Le Guin, Jeff Vandermeer, and Ted Chiang. [...]
