Beginner here. What books would you recommend I read?

I’ve mostly read manga and manhwa before, but I wanna try getting into actual books now. English also isn’t my first language, so I’d prefer books that aren’t too hard to understand. I’m into political/warfare stuff, war themes in general, or really sad life/romance stories. by OrionStarBornOO
