Sci-Fi for a non sci-fi reader!

My mom mainly reads romance and historical fiction and has always said that she does not like sci-fi. However, she absolutely loved Ready Player One and Project Hail Mary. She wanted me to see if anyone had a recommendation for a sci-fi book similar to the above two books? Thanks in advance! by nashh33
