Best books to improve reading comprehension, vocabulary, and understanding of the world?

I’m trying to get into reading more seriously and want books that will help improve my reading comprehension and vocabulary. I’m especially interested in books that explain how the world works, things like history, economics, psychology, politics, philosophy, or other deep intellectual topics. Ideally something that is challenging by Big_Assist4578
