Christina’s secret is exposed on Coronation Street – and her loved ones may not forgive

There’s an unspoken rule in Coronation Street – don’t break George Shuttleworth’s (Tony Maudsley) heart. Shame on you Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) In many ways, George and Christina are total Cobbles couple goals. After ending his relationship with Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) when she moved to Thailand, George wasn’t looking for love but love found him… in the form of Daisy Midglely’ (Charlotte Jordan) feisty, bubbly yummy mummy,Christina Boyd. The cheeriest Undertaker in Manchester got his woman, and the couples’ romance blossomed into a fan-favorite pairing on the street as soon as Christina moved in. She even took on a job as a cleaner at Shuttleworth’s Independent Funeral Services. However, their relationship is not without challenges. Drama struck earlier this year when George’s business was sued by Annie King, the daughter of a client called Doris who left him £10,000 in her will. She took legal action against George for supposedly taking advantage of her mother and did everything she could do publicly sabotage his business. It was Christina who urged him to accept the money and fight Annie every step of the way. George and Christina have been through thick and thin together. (Picture: ITV) The real trouble didn’t start until the death of Theo Silverton. The brutal murder of Todd Grimshaw’s abusive ex had personal significance for George. As Todd’s close friend, employer and father figure, he had more motive than anyone, which put Christina in the frame too. Following the incident, Christina and George got entangled in a police investigation after Christina lied to police about picking up Todd – which had big consequences for their friend and fellow suspect Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby). (Picture: ITV) Though she was questioned at the police station, she later covered her tracks by claiming she had simply mixed up her timings and forgotten she stopped for petrol, which George accepted at the time. These two Cobbles characters sure have been through a lot together. Therefore, it seems completely out of the realms of possibility that Christina would do the dirty on our George with another man. Right? Right?! Wrong. Or at least that’s how it looks. Because upcoming episodes of Coronation Street seem to show Christina doing just that. She’s definitely made a terrible mistake that she doesn’t want anyone to know about. But what? When George suggests a romantic dinner at the bistro later, Christina turns him down, making out that she’s taken on another cleaning job. George is disappointed. But what is Christina really up to? Why is Christina sneaking about? (Picture: ITV) On Victoria Street, a car pulls up and Christina has a hurried exchange with the driver before the car pulls away. George’s daughter, Glenda (Jodie Prenger) watches her with suspicion. At No.11, George apologises profusely to Summer for ever suspecting her capable of murder and swears that he’ll make it up to her. As Christina goes to put the kettle on, her phone vibrates. Her face drops when she sees who it is and quickly kills the call. Still suspicious about Christina, Glenda rifles through her handbag whilst Christina is in the loos at Roys Rolls. She’s shocked at what she finds. Concerned about Christina’s behaviour George follows Christina to the precinct. He watches in horror as she meets up with a man and embraces him. George bounds over and demands to know what’s going on. Christina confesses to George exactly how much trouble she is in.
