  "textContent": "Harry is said to be reconsidering the trip after getting news about security measures (Picture: Reuters)\n\nPrince Harry may have to scrap plans to bring his children to the UK next month to see the grave of his mother, Princess Diana, according to reports.\n\nThe Duke of Sussex was planning to bring his wife Meghan and their two children over for a July visit – the family’s first UK trip in four years.\n\nBut BBC News has reported the plans are being reconsidered after Harry was told on Friday that no taxpayer-funded security would be provided for them.\n\nHarry is believed to have been told about the decision after details of the visit were announced two days ago.\n\nThe trip over from the family’s home in California was set to mark the beginning of the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games hosted in Birmingham in July 2027.\n\nHarry was due to attend celebrations launching the build-up to the event and visit two charities he supports – WellChild and Scotty’s Little Soldiers.\n\nThe Sun reported he was also planning to take his two children, Archie and Lilibet, to visit their grandmother’s grave for the first time.\n\nDiana was buried on an island in the middle of the ornamental Round Oval Lake on the Althorp Estate where she grew up, following her death aged 36 in a Paris car crash in August 1997.\n\nIt would be the first time the two children had seen the grave, and the newspaper said their visit would take place in the days after what would have been Diana’s 65th birthday.\n\nHarry is a founder of the Invictus Games for military personnel and veterans (Picture: Jonathan Brady/PA Wire)\n\nAccording to the BBC, the duke was ‘distraught’ at the decision not to provide security but he would ‘still like to find a way to make the trip work’.\n\nThe issue of security in the UK has been a major sticking point for Harry in recent years.\n\nHis level of protection changed when he stepped down as a working royal in 2020, and last year he lost a legal battle to overturn that downgrade.\n\nWorries about safety were a major factor in stopping him bringing his wife and children to visit the UK, he argued.\n\nReports claim the Sussexes were given assurances that meant Harry’s concerns were mitigated.\n\nArchie and Lilibet have not seen their grandfather the King in person for four years, since the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.\n\nHarry last saw his father in September last year when they had tea together at Clarence House in London.
