"textContent": "United want new recruits in midfield this summer (Picture: Robbie Jay Barratt – AMA/Getty Images)\n\nBorussia Dortmund have placed a huge price tag on Felix Nmecha after Gary Neville urged Manchester United to make a move for the Germany international.\n\nThe former Manchester City youngster has enjoyed a sparkling start to the World Cup, starring in Germany’s wins over Curacao and Ivory Coast.\n\nThe 25-year-old joined Dortmund three years ago after a spell at Wolfsburg and has four years left on his contract at Signal Iduna Park. That contract does include a €80million (£69.3m) release clause but that will not be active until next year.\n\nBayern Munich and Liverpool have been linked with a move for Nmecha with United seeking to rebuild their midfield this summer.\n\n## Don't miss a World Cup moment\n\n(Picture: Getty)\n\n\nWe're witnessing history at this World Cup – our daily newsletter helps you make the most of it. Sign up.\n\nBut any club looking to prise him away from Dortmund will have to dig deep with Kicker reporting Dortmund have placed a €100million (£86m) price tag on him.\n\nUnited have agreed a deal to sign Atalanta’s Ederson but are understood to want to sign at least two new midfielders – three should Manuel Ugarte also leave the club.\n\nThey have already been frustrated in their pursuit of Elliot Anderson with the Nottingham Forest star preferring a move to Manchester City.\n\nNmecha has starred for Germany (Picture: Michael Miller/ISI Photos/ISI Photos via Getty Images)\n\nMateus Fernandes is also regarded as a top target with United thought to be favourites to land the West Ham United star. However, Tottenham have entered the race and are now considered the front runners, prepared to make the former Southampton star a huge offer that could blow United’s out of the water.\n\nWest Ham are also demanding at least £80m for their midfielder, a fee United are reluctant to meet.\n\nDortmund are determined to hold onto him (Picture: Anadolu)\n\nFormer United captain Neville suggested Nmecha could be a viable alternative to Fernandes if they do miss out.\n\n‘The more he plays like he did the other night the more expensive he’ll get,’ Neville told ITV during Germany’s win over Ivory Coast.\n\n‘But at the moment, we hear Manchester United are being quoted £100 million for the West Ham boy Fernandes, so they’re going to have to be looking around this tournament and parts of Europe.\n\n‘He looked outstanding the other night, it looked like he had absolutely everything.’\n\nComment now Comments \nAdd Metro as a Preferred Source on Google\nAdd as preferred source\n",
