  "textContent": "Trevoh Chalobah is surplus to requirements at Chelsea (Picture: Getty Images)\n\nTrevoh Chalobah may have got a late call up to the England squad for the World Cup, but he looks set to leave Chelsea this summer.\n\nThe 26-year-old joined the England squad just before their tournament began after Tino Livramento suffered an injury in training.\n\nHe may be unlikely to feature unless there are further injuries, but it shows he is well thought of by Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel, who again opted to leave Manchester United’s Harry Maguire at home.\n\nChalobah was a regular for Chelsea last season under Enzo Maresca and then Liam Rosenior, making 47 appearances in all competitions and scoring three Premier League goals.\n\n##  Don't miss a World Cup moment\n\n(Picture: Getty)\n\n\nWe're witnessing history at this World Cup – our daily newsletter helps you make the most of it. Sign up.\n\nHowever, he may have played his last game for the Blues, with Chelsea open to offers and a bid coming in.\n\nTransfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Italian side Como have made an official bid for the defender.\n\nSerie A champions Inter Milan are also considering a move for the centre-back, who looks likely to be playing Champions League football next season.\n\nChalobah was a late call-up to the England squad (Picture: Getty Images)\n\nComo qualified for the Champions League under manager Cesc Fabregas, while obviously Inter will be competing at Europe’s top table after winning their domestic title.\n\nChelsea have no European competition next season after a very disappointing campaign which saw them finish 10th before appointing Xabi Alonso.\n\nHow much the Como bid is worth is not clear, neither is how clear it is to Chelsea’s valuation of Chalobah.\n\nCesc Fabregas has led Como into the Champions League (Picture: Getty Images)\n\nThe England international remains under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2028, with the club holding an option to extend that deal by a further year.\n\nChelsea’s willingness to let Chalobah leave comes as they pursue a new centre-back signing.\n\nCrystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix is on their shopping list, as is Como’s  Jacobo Ramon.\n\nThere will likely be plenty of deals done at Stamford Bridge this summer, with Marco Palestra on his way from Atalanta after a £51m move was agreed.\n\nThe Blues also want a new left-back after Marc Cucurella’s departure to Real Madrid, with Gabriel Gudmundsson from Leeds on their radar.\n\nComment now Comments \nAdd Metro as a Preferred Source on Google\nAdd as preferred source\n",
