  "textContent": "Robbie Lammas said he was ’embarrassed’ by his decision to move from the Conservatives to Reform (Picture: Reform UK/PA Wire)\n\nA Reform councillor has quit the party, calling his decision to join ‘the biggest mistake of my life’.\n\nRobbie Lammas, a councillor in Medway, Kent, said he was embarrassed about his defection from the Conservatives to Reform eight months ago.\n\nCllr Lammas told the BBC: ‘I’m going to leave Reform, I’ve had enough, it’s not what I signed up to, and I feel I’ve been misled.’\n\nHe continued: ‘I’ve realised I have made the biggest mistake of my life.’\n\nCllr Lammas’ defection in October last year was seen as a boost to Reform locally.\n\nRobbie Lammas claims he was led to believe his defection would be one of many (Picture: LinkedIn)\n\n##  Everything is changing, all the time\n\nCut through political noise and understand how the Westminster chaos actually affects your life with Metro's politics newsletter Alright, Gov? Sign up here.\n\nAt the time, he said that his ‘trust in the Conservative Party has gone’ and said the Tories were ‘over’.\n\nHe added: ‘Not only is Reform a party I feel strongly aligned to as a conservative, but I believe that Nigel Farage provides the trusted leadership needed to save Britain.’\n\nNow he claims his defection was ‘just used for a news story’ by Reform, adding that he was ’embarrassed’ by his decision to quit the Conservatives.\n\nCllr Lammas said: ‘I was told at the time there would be lots of people coming over. There would be one or two MPs.\n\n‘I would sort of slip in quietly. I did not want to go for a fanfare’.\n\nThe Medway representative has also changed his mind on his former Tory colleagues.\n\nHe explained: ‘I left the party I love because I thought the party was over.\n\n‘This was back last year when the Conservatives were not announcing any policy.
