Sign up here.\n\nThe message sent out to people in the area read: ‘Imminent Threat Alert\nNational Weather Service: SEVERE.\n\n‘THUNDERSTORM WARNING in effect for this area until 9.00pm CDT for DESTRUCTIVE 80 mph winds. Take shelter in a sturdy building, away from windows.\n\n‘Flying debris may be deadly to those caught without shelter.’\n\nA weather warning sent out in Kansas\n\nTalkSPORT report that there have been power outages in Kansas City and more widely Missouri.\n\nThere was due to be a fan festival in Kansas City, but that has been closed as a result of the warning.\n\nA statement read: ‘Due to anticipated severe weather, Fifa fan festival will be closing early at 5pm and will not reopen today.\n\n‘The safety of the public, staff, volunteers and entertainers remains our top priority.’\n\n> Tornado siren going off in Kansas City. Satellite signal gone. pic.twitter.com/PWT2eaiiBs\n>\n> — Henry Winter (@henrywinter) June 14, 2026\n\nThe threat of a tornado eased, but danger remained, as the National Weather Service reported, via the Kansas City Star: ‘The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer appears capable of producing a tornado.\n\n‘Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty winds are still possible with this thunderstorm.\n\n‘A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 11 p.m. for west central Missouri.’\n\nThe weather was fine as England trained on Saturday afternoon (Picture: Getty Images)\n\nWeather has already hit England’s preparation when their friendly against Costa Rica on Wednesday was delayed after a storm in Orlando.\n\nEngland’s arrival in Kansas has also been disrupted when training kit was stolen from a van.\n\nTwo people have since been arrested, with Quinton Lucas, the mayor of Kansas City, Missouri, saying: ‘Yesterday, officials in Kansas City learned at some point between their over-the-road transport from Florida to their arrival at the training facility in Kansas City, goods belonging to the English national team were stolen.\n\n‘Public safety officials at the local, state and federal levels are working to trace where in the United States the items were seized and all the individuals who may have been involved.’\n\nThe BBC reported that the training gear was recovered, with goalkeeper Dean Henderson not sounding fussed by the incident, saying: ‘To be honest, I didn’t really notice anything about it until you started saying.
