  "textContent": "Former supply teacher Abusali Rahman has pleaded guilty to taking more than 100 upskirt photos of pupils (Picture: GMP/PA)\n\n**A former supply teacher who took more than 100 upskirt photos of pupils at several secondary schools across the North West is facing jail.**\n\nAbusali Rahman, 36, pleaded guilty to a total of 21 offences at Bolton Crown Court today.\n\nHis offending began within months of qualifying as a teacher in 2023 and continued until his arrest last year.\n\nRahman, a British national of Bangladeshi ethnicity from Salford, admitted 12 counts of taking indecent photographs of children by upskirting, four counts of publishing an obscene article, three counts of making indecent photographs of children, one count of voyeurism and one count of distributing an indecent photograph of a child.\n\nHe will be sentenced on September 1.\n\nEmma Kehoe, defending, said: ‘Mr Rahman knows this is a prison sentence, but he was going through a mental health crisis at the time.’\n\nShe asked for a psychiatric report ahead of sentence.\n\nRecorder Geoffrey Lowe said: ‘This is a complex case.’\n\nGreater Manchester Police said Rahman was arrested in June 2025 after a parent raised concerns when an image of their child in school uniform was circulated on social media.\n\nSpeaking outside court, Detective Sergeant Simon France said the guilty pleas were the result of a ‘painstaking, thorough investigation’.\n\nHe said: ‘We first received reports of Abusali Rahman’s suspected offending in March 2025 and he was arrested in June that year.\n\n##  This Is Not Right\n\nOn November 25, 2024 **Metro** launched This Is Not Right, a campaign to address the relentless epidemic of violence against women.\n\nWith the help of our partners at Women's Aid, This Is Not Right aims to shine a light on the sheer scale of this national emergency.\n\nYou can find more articles **here** , and if you want to share your story with us, you can send us an email at **vaw@metro.co.uk**.\n\n**Read more:**\n\n  * Introducing This Is Not Right: Metro's year-long violence against women campaign\n  * Remembering the women killed by men in 2024\n\n\n\n‘The offences are alleged to have taken place in several secondary schools across the North West between December 2023 and 2025.\n\nAbusali Rahman, 36, pleaded guilty to a total of 21 offences at Bolton Crown Court (Picture: GMP/PA)\n\n‘The officers and staff working on this investigation, including our victim identification team, have put everything into building a case against Rahman and bringing the charges against him.\n\n‘This included our digital investigation unit which has analysed around 1,000 images over the past year.’\n\nHe said police had been in contact with all the schools Rahman had worked in since he became a qualified teacher in 2023.\n\nAlex Mann, from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), said: ‘This was a horrifying case involving an abuse of trust that affected multiple young victims.\n\n‘Rahman fell well below the standards expected of his role – first by sharing sexualised deepfake images online, before escalating to upskirting and voyeurism offences.\n\n‘Following a comprehensive GMP investigation, prosecutors were able to piece together a compelling case that left the defendant with little choice but admit his crimes.\n\n‘The guilty pleas entered today means he will face the consequences of his appalling actions, without victims having to prolong their suffering by reliving their experiences at trial.’\n\nComment now Comments \nAdd Metro as a Preferred Source on Google\nAdd as preferred source\n",
