  "textContent": "Emergency services at the scene of a shooting in Brixton, south London (Picture: Marcin Nowak/LNP)\n\n**A man is fighting for life in hospital after a drive-by shooting in Brixton last night.**\n\nPolice were scrambled to Coldharbour Lane after shots were fired from a car shortly after 1am.\n\nFour people were rushed to hospital, including a 25-year-old man who remains in a life-threatening condition.\n\nThe three others – aged 21, 47 and 70 – were assessed as suffering injuries which are neither life-threatening or life-changing.\n\nNo arrests have yet been made, but the Met said detectives are working ‘at pace’ to track down those responsible.\n\nDetective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo said: ‘We understand how concerning this incident will be for the local community and want to reassure residents that officers are working at pace to identify those responsible.\n\n‘This was an act of indiscriminate violence, and we will work relentlessly to bring the suspects to justice.\n\nForensics officers gathering evidence at the scene on Coldharbour Lane (Picture: Marcin Nowak/LNP)\n\n‘It is vital that anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information that could assist the investigation, comes forward.’\n\nA Met Police spokesperson said: ‘Police were called at 1.14am on Saturday, May 2, following reports a firearm discharge on Coldharbour Lane, Brixton.\n\n‘Officers, including specialist crime officers, were on scene within four minutes and provided emergency first aid alongside the London Ambulance Service.\n\n‘Four people were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds.
