  "textContent": "Children’s TV show Balamory has released its first glimpse of the reboot (Picture: Lion Television Scotland/BBC)\n\nChildren’s TV show and absolute fever dream Balamory is making a surprise comeback to CBeebies after nearly 20 years away.\n\nThe CBeebies show was a hit with preschool kids two decades ago when it made its debut in 2002 before it came to an end in 2005.\n\nSet in the fictional island town of Balamory, a pastel-hued escape, the Scottish series focused on a nursery school and its teacher Miss Hoolie.\n\nEach episode, which also featured different members of the community, would see a selection of songs played by different characters.\n\nNow, following the BBC’s decision to commission Balamory for two new and revamped series on CBeebies, which will air from 2026, fans have been left tearful after getting a first glimpse at the reboot.\n\nTaking to X, Bran wrote: ‘Will I be watching the new #Balamory at the big age of 27? Yes I will!’\n\nJulie Wilson Nimmo, who plays Miss Hoolie, said the reboot will be bigger than the Oasis reunion (Picture: Lion Television Scotland/BBC)\n\nSeveral original stars, such as Andrew Agnew as PC Plum, will be making their return (Picture: Lion Television Scotland/BBC)\n\nTom also said: ‘It feels familiar and brand new all at the same time.’\n\nMitchell commented: ‘I’ll be watching! I’m 24 years old & Balamory was a BIG part of my childhood!’\n\nSaffro, meanwhile, asked ‘She’s still got the weather pointer thing, yeah?! (asks a woman in her 20s 😂),’ as Daniel added: ‘These ppl haven’t aged!!’\n\nWhen the reboot was originally announced, Julie Wilson Nimmo – who plays Miss Hoolie – said it would be ‘bigger than the Oasis reunion’.\n\nThis came after a Balamory star revealed her new career, which is a ‘million miles away from kids’ TV.\n\nKim Tserkezie is best known for playing Penny Pocket on Balamory, but she has added another string to her bow and re-entered education.\n\nThe first glimpse of the reboot, with Dr Ollie as Carl Spencer, has sent fans into a frenzy (Picture: Lion Television Scotland/BBC)\n\nEdie McCredie, who is played by Juliet Cadzow, was a fan favourite with former viewers (Picture: Lion Television Scotland/BBC)\n\nAfter several years and lots of hard work, she’s now qualified as an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor.
