  "textContent": "Motorists are being advised to allow for extra time to get to Luton Airport this morning after a crash on the M1 southbound (Picture: Highways England)\n\nMotorists heading to Luton Airport for their Easter getaway this weekend are facing delays after a crash on the M1.\n\nNational Highways said traffic began building up on the southbound part of the motorway between Junction 11 and 10 this morning after a car and motorbike were involved in a collision.\n\nThe motorway was then closed between the two junctions from 7.45am to 9.30am as emergency services came to the scene.\n\nAll lanes have since reopened but there are long delays of up to 45 minutes on the motorway as a result.\n\nMotorists were previously being diverted off the M1 to the A505 onto the A5 through Dunstable to help smooth journeys.\n\n##  Sign up for all of the latest stories\n\nStart your day informed with Metro's **News Updates** newsletter or get **Breaking News** alerts the moment it happens.\n\n> ALL LANES for the #M1 south between J11 and J10 at #Luton are now open following a earlier collision.
