  "textContent": "Ian Huntley spent more than a week on life support after being attacked in prison (Picture: Shutterstock)\n\nThe only child of murderer Ian Huntley has said the ‘devil is waiting’ for her father after his death.\n\nHuntley died yesterday more than a week after he was left blind and brain damaged by a fellow prisoner armed with a spiked metal pole.\n\nHe was serving a life sentence at HMP Frankland, County Durham, for murdering ten-year-old best friends Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in 2002.\n\nSpeaking to the Sun on Sunday, his daughter Samantha Bryan said: ‘We should flush his ashes down the toilet.’\n\nShe told the newspaper: ‘What he’s done will never leave me. Knowing he’s gone, I think the nightmares will now dissipate.’\n\nSamantha’s mother Katie, who was seduced by Huntley aged 15 and abused by him before she left the relationship, agreed with her daughter that he does not deserved the ‘dignity of a grave’.\n\nShe added: ‘As a mother, my thoughts are also with the family of Holly and Jessica. Very much so. We should save our tears for them.’\n\nSamantha Bryan is the only biological child of Ian Huntley (Picture: Ken McKay/ITV/Shutterstock)\n\nHuntley’s death was confirmed by the Ministry of Justice on Saturday morning.\n\nA spokesperson said: ‘The murders of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman remains one of the most shocking and devastating cases in our nation’s history, and our thoughts are with their families.’\n\nTriple killer Anthony Russell, 43, was widely named as the prime suspect, with reports saying the attack was launched following an argument in a workshop.\n\nThe attacker was said to have shouted: ‘I’ve done it, I’ve done it.
