  "textContent": "A scene remained in place at The Broadway on Sunday afternoon (Picture: Conor McCormick)\n\nThe Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation after a man in his 40s was stabbed to death in the centre of Wimbledon.\n\nEmergency services responded to reports of the stabbing at The Broadway in Wimbledon, south east London, at 0.30am today.\n\nA man was found with stab wounds and died shortly after the arrival of paramedics.\n\nA man, in his 30s, was arrested later that night on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.\n\nThe Broadway remained shut off by police tape on Sunday afternoon, with a tent erected on the street.\n\n##  Sign up for all of the latest stories\n\nStart your day informed with Metro's **News Updates** newsletter or get **Breaking News **alerts the moment it happens.\n\nThe Met said the stabbing was an isolated incident.\n\nDetective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, who is leading the investigation, said: ‘Our thoughts are with the victim’s family.
