"textContent": "Manchester United legend Gary Neville (Picture: Getty)\n\nGary Neville has told Arsenal and Chelsea they should have signed a Manchester United star last summer.\n\nUnited spent almost £200m in last summer’s transfer window, bringing Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens to Old Trafford.\n\nArguably the best summer addition was Mbeumo, who has scored ten goals so far this season following a £65m move from Brentford.\n\nNeville has been impressed with ‘good and solid signing’ Mbeumo, who has looked particularly dangerous under caretaker boss Michael Carrick, netting three goals in his last five games.\n\nManchester United beat Tottenham in the race to sign Mbeumo but Neville believes Arsenal and Chelsea should also have made moves for the Cameroon forward.\n\nArsenal bolstered Mikel Arteta’s attacking options last summer with the signings of Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke.\n\nChelsea, meanwhile, sanctioned another stunning spending spree, bringing the likes of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho and Estevao Willian to Stamford Bridge.\n\n## Get your football fix\n\nDon't want to miss the week's biggest football stories? **Metro's** exclusive football newsletter, In The Mixer, is your essential guide.\n\nFrom the latest transfer rumours and managerial moves to analysis of the biggest games and a lot more, our experts have you covered.\n\nSign up here, it's an open goal.\n\nManchester United summer signing Bryan Mbeumo (Picture: Getty)\n\nNeville has also been impressed by Pedro but believes Mbeumo would have been a better signing for Chelsea and says United’s £65m star would have been ‘a sensation’ at Arsenal.\n\nAssessing Manchester United’s deal for Mbeumo on the Stick to Football podcast, Neville said: ‘If you look at it now, Mbeumo would probably have been better for Chelsea and Arsenal than the players they got.\n\n‘I think Joao Pedro had done quite well but Mbeumo… I mean, he would have been a sensation for Arsenal wouldn’t he?\n\nTo view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video\n\nUp Next\n\nPrevious Page\n\nNext Page\n\n‘He’s a good signing for Manchester United, a really solid signing. I like him a lot.’\n\nIan Wright, meanwhile, agreed with Neville’s assessment and suggested he was ‘gutted’ that Mbeumo did not end up at Arsenal.\n\nThe Gunners legend had a similar feeling when Manchester City signed Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth for £65m.\n\n‘He always looks dangerous,’ Wright said of Mbeumo. ‘When you see how he plays, absolutely [he would have strengthened Arsenal].\n\n‘It’s the same with Semenyo, you watch Semenyo and think, “I could see him at Arsenal”. I could see Mbeumo at Arsenal as well. Gutted.’\n\nMbeumo provided the assist for Benjamin Sesko’s injury-time equaliser against West Ham on Tuesday night as Manchester United maintained their unbeaten record under Carrick.\n\nIt was Ruben Amorim who welcomed Mbeumo and United’s other summer signings to Old Trafford but the Portuguese boss was sacked last month after a disappointing 14-month tenure.\n\n**For more stories like this, check our sport page**.\n\n**Follow Metro Sport for the latest news on**Facebook, **Twitter and Instagram**.\n\nComment now Comments Add Metro as a Preferred Source on Google Add as preferred source ",
