Trying to understand whether CompTIA Linux+ still makes sense in 2026 for someone aiming to build a career in Linux, cloud, or DevOps roles.
From what I’ve seen, Linux+ covers:
- Linux system administration basics
- Command line operations
- User and file management
- Security and permissions
- Scripting and troubleshooting
It looks like a solid vendor-neutral certification, but I’m not sure how it compares to more practical or widely demanded options like RHCSA or AWS-based certifications in today’s job market.
I’ve also noticed that many learners follow structured training programs (for example, platforms like Sterling Next that provide guided certification preparation), but I’m still trying to figure out whether the certification itself is enough to get entry-level opportunities or if hands-on experience matters more.
