"textContent": "Seriously considering getting a commuter as in April between the wife and I's rides we've dropped about $1K in gas. My commute is 40 miles one way, 99% freeway. The wife only drives like a mile to her work. Anyways, is a hybrid worth the extra roughly $2k in cost over just a regular gas vehicle? I haven't even started looking at EVs, I don't know if I could charge one at home. My office does have chargers in the parking garage though. But EVs are out of my budget, only looking to spend $25k at most. Looking to just get a Toyota Corolla. The gas is around $24k, the hybrid is $26k.\n\nI currently drive a gas F250 as a daily, and the wife absolutely does not want to switch lol. I get 15mpg, she gets 19mpg with her Explorer.",
