  "textContent": "My gut response to this is \"nope nope nopety nope nope nope\", partly because I do 99% of my banking on my computer and I file bank statements onto local storage for record-keeping purposes, and often it's just easier to do things on a big screen with a decent multi-tasking OS, but I'm wondering if I'm stopping myself from getting a much better interest rate (4% rather than 2% with my current provider for this unusual type of savings account) out of maybe a silly principle.\n\nI assume that the app has the option to download a statement (though sometimes dumping my transactions into csv can be handy when I'm doing my business tax return and I doubt that a phone app is going to have that option) in say PDF format, so I can just transfer that PDF from my phone to my computer, but it also gets my goat that so many companies want you to run their code on your phone rather than just use a website, and I think it's reasonable to harbour a certain amount of cynicism as to what their purpose...\n\nRead more",
