My question is not directed at those with million-dollar salaries who buy tickets to concerts and may or may not end up using said tickets... uh, sorry I wasted database capacity with this pointless question! 😛
I have never been to a music concert that I really wanted to go to. For me, I either don't like the band's material sufficiently, or they're too expensive to go see, or they're dead. Once upon a time I would have jumped to see say a Guns n' Roses concert, but now when I listen to those albums I probably really like about 10-25% of the content, some is tolerable, some is just plain bad. I like a fair bit of David Bowie's music, but in terms of his total music output the percentage probably isn't that high either (also, he's dead). The last time I looked, tickets for Guns n' Roses were like £400 apiece and for those prices I'd have to freaking love them and consider it a once-in-a-lifetime event. Now there's no way on the planet I'd pay say more than £100, especially...
