I did some ciphering. I only take home 45.86% of my gross pay. It's a complex equation involving quadratic equations and sound pressure levels in relation to cubic volume, but I did it. It is a much smaller percentage as I near retirement and I'm throwing everything into saving for retirement. In 1986 if I made 100 bucks I took home 82 bucks. Not so much now. Every $100 I earn I take home $45.86. Adulting is hard.
