Investigation of Single Thread CPU "Thoughput/cycle"

I am compiling a table of results for a selection of benchmarks to provide a reference for "work rate" or "throughput/cycle" or what used to be known as "IPC." While I realize there is no ultimate benchmark or set of benchmarks that everyone will agree on for reasons in the next post these are the ones I'm using. My primary goal here is accuracy and precision in reporting more than anything else. I have taken considerable time verifying the results in the table. Igor Kavinski has done the work to bench is 245K and I have compiled the rest of the results. It's a lot of work. If you don't agree with the methodology, the results, or simply "don't have time for this nonsense" that's totally fair. I'm putting this out there for my own curiousity and for the community here that I have enjoyed discussing cpu architecture for the last nearly 30 years.
